Growing up I always listened to the most hardcore of Punk Music winding into the 70's Punk Rock and Roll New York and L.A Thing,Thunders,The Dolls,Patti Smith,Ramones,Screamers,Crime,Dils,Germs,Bags,The Cramps,Television,Dead Boys,Pere Ubu,Etc Etc... This ended up mellowing my music taste even more taking me to the level of thinking and emotion over indulgence,I got into Joy Division,The Smiths,BauHaus,Jesus and Mary Chain and a lot of artsy post punk stuff....Id get more into the storytelling piont of rock and folk from then on.Tom Waits,Nick Cave,Bob,Dylan,Bowie,Beefheart,Leneord Cohen. This was Deep Dark Shit to me and I was Hooked on Junk at the time.I got more into the roots and garage rock of the Sonics,Troggs,Kinks,Trashmen,Monks and all that shit Velvets and Nico and the Hipster shit too.I cant get enough of the coolness and versatility of rock and the eras of underground Rock,Punk,Post Punk,Idustrial...I Like everything to a point there is significance in almost every musical movement. At least we find new instrujments from some of em?
I think people that are music junkies, like myself have kind of went it the same patterns. I was a hardcore Smiths fan.
He (Morrisery) was the one of the biggest influences on me writing.
I like the poetry that the heavywieght artist put into music and song writing.
The bands that can play mellow and still hit that sweet spot where feeling and sorrow take over has always been
dear to me. there just something about pain in music that just feels like home to me.
