Default Best Hip Hop album of 2005

got a big ole package from sandbox yesterday and have been listening to stuff non-stop....

best hip hop release of 2005 is dj muggs/the gza - grandmasters
i'm a fan of both but was prepared to be disappointed. instead, i'm amazed. liquid swords will never be topped but this is as close as gza will ever get.

classic dark, grimy, east coast gutter lyrics and great production from muggs. no skits or filler.

    runners up are...

    blockhead - downtown science
    cage - hell's winter
    doom/danger mouse - dangerdoom
edan - beauty and the beat

i'm also liking omega one's debut. i dont' listen to kanye so i can't comment on hip pop.

It's a tie between that Cage album and Edan's for me.

Oh. Since there's no new Kid n Play album this year I'm gonna have to vote for Young MC.

I don't listen to that much hip-hop but
Lyrics Born "Same !@#$ Different Day"
    is really good.
