Default Some music dont stand time.

Yeah so I have been converting alot of my records to mp3s for the ipod and I sit at work going on shuffle mode, feeling pretty good about my record collection but then I have two or three cds with Beck and I really liked alot of his stuff when it came out but that music feels completely worhless today while I can listen a million times to Screaming trees and Soungarden songs which has stood the "tooth of time" in a completely different way.

Oh I feel like a real nerd now. Anyone got similar experience with their music consuming?

    All the time.

Not with BEck, but a lot of stuff doesn't sound as good a few years on.

'Course, a lot of it never was that god, something about a tune fits at certain points - I think it's often more association with something rather than how good/great a song is. And when you lose that thread, the song just doesn't make sense anymore.

How else can we explain Ned's Atomic Distbin?

i've been listening to the strawberry alarm clock lately. they sounds so worthless and cliched psychedelic that it's awful. but after so many many years or ignoring that sound, it actually sounds sort of interesting again. it's like listening to early jefferson airplane. that cheezy psych stance seems fresh again, and nobody was as cheezy as the strawberry alarm clock.

I go through my CD's every couple of years and downsize. it's amazing what 2 years will do to your musical tastes.
