    Default Ramones songs in advertising

seems like Joey's body's not even cold yet and advertisers are already all over these music properties. Seems like I hear a Ramones song every single time I watch television. Just heard Blitzkieg Bop selling cellular minutes.

The original Ramones, in my mind, never really sold their souls to Madison ave, but their relatives sure as hell have.

The Ramones make me want to drink Pepsi.

I wish it were Dee Dee, Joey & Johnny making the scratch, but their families deserve the bread.

As long as it's not some third party sucking up all the loot from some BS publishing deal, like Michael Jackson & the beatles songs.

I heard a CIV song used on a Nissan commercial on the radio today. I was perplexed. I mean that is a pretty obscure band to be getting used in a commercial.

just this last week, i heard Faith No More on the Discovery Channel ("We Care Alot" for a commercial for a "Dirtiest Jobs" show) and on a jeans ad (their version of "Easy"). wonder if Patton made any money off all that?

i know the Descendents had "I Don't Want To Grow Up" on a car commercial last year, but Greg Ginn got all the money for that one, not them.

No way man, there where commercials back when i was like 10 with Blitzkrieg Bop in it, either budweiser or pepsi, i think if you look into it you'll see that they where very OK with cashing in.

I hope I'm not the only one who thought it was cool that Champion (via Target) used an Eric B & Rakim joint for a commercial.
