I think Steve at screwball uses that.

Longer burn from low UV output with halogen.

You want some real juice use a metal halide lamp, either a floodlamp or growlamp, expect to pay around $200.

I used them for a few screens. It works but takes a really long time 30 mins plus and it is very uneven burn. If you dont have any more money it will do.

I'm using one of these lights for my exposure setup. pretty ghetto, but it works fairly well. it's a 500W halogen, make sure you remove the glass panel as it's a UV filter. with 25x36 230 dyed mesh screens, speedball diazo emulsion, about 2 feet from the screen, i get right around 30 minutes for a good exposure. might be able to go less, but this works for me.

Is it ok to put these lights 18" or 12" from a screen? I know that the heat will fuck the emulsion up if they are too close, but let me know. I jsut picked up a 500 watt halogen from Home Depot too and as I have been having trouble with my other light for about two weeks, i am itching to give this a try.

1.5 x the diagonal of your image is the min distance you want to be back. But further back the longer it takes. get a little fan if it gets hot. Don't enclose it.
