    Default Amature questions.

OK, So as time has passed I have watched every thread, laughed at all of the jokes, and absorbed the ways of screenprinting. But to be sure that I'm not going to mess up here is a list of the things that I think i need to have and know. I just want to start off without thinking, "what the fuck did i get myself into"

    List of materials:
    Emulsion
    Degreaser (or dawn dishsoap?)
    Haze Remover
    Emulsion Remover
    Inks
    Screens
    Squeegees
    Screen Coater
    Press
    Pressure Washer
    Beer (for registration purposes only)
    Gas mask (maybe?)

Here are some questions I have been saving up:
I have a nice color laser printer, in order to print shit that will work to expose a screen should i use acetate or transparencies, what works the best?

I know many people do their seperation in photoshop, but is there a tutorial somewhere to show me how to do this?

What are the things you did when you first started that made you think about how stupid you were? (not so i can laugh but so i won't make the same mistake)

For now that's all. Thanks everyone,
    Mark Forsman

Who do you think I am, Andymac? I'm not acually going to use everything. It's just there to look cool.

Well then, you'll need a platinum flat file.

Wow man! I can't believe anyone knows where Mukilteo is! If you don't mind me asking, how long ago was it that you lived here?

In 1997 I was 8 years young hahaha. To much has changed around here, you wouldn't even recognize it. The speedway is a 4 lane road now. Anyways, anything you see wrong about my first post?

if you know how to use photoshop, and layers, you're there.

just assemble each color as a different layer. (you can also work in chanels, if you're familiar with those) by multiplying the layers you can get an idea how overprinting will work (if you use extender in your ink).

then save out each layer, full size to your poster, as a 600-1200 dpi (depending on your mesh) bitmap tiff for printing. voila!
