    Default Vellum Exposure

Quick question - using vellum instead of film, how much should I increase the exposure time when burning a screen?

Figuring with a clear film it's a 5 minute exposure using 2 500w Halogen lights
am I looking at 10 minutes or longer?

Do a test burn if you can.

Get a piece of thick cardboard and place it over 3/4 of your vellum. After 5 minutes move it to halfway and keep moving it in 2 minute increments to see which does best for you. It will save you headaches in the future. Use the vellum that has the most detail.

our rule of thumb is 1.5x your normal exposure time.

we normally do 14 minutes so we do 21 with vellum. works out fine, we use ulano qtx if that helps.
