Default photographing/scanning prints for use as a digital file

what method do you use to capture your prints so that you can publish them to the web (e.g. to GP or for your own site). I have a pretty good digi camera but i am still having some problems getting a photo that is true to the colors, detail, etc. in the prints, especially when there is a lot of white (paper) exposed in the print.

some of the screenprinted posters on this site look too perfect. how do you do it?!?

A lot of the posts are the digital versions of the design. If you need actual photos of your work, pick up a book on portfolio photography or take your poster to a company that has a drum scanner/large format scanner.
