    Default Halftone...MAX Lines Per Inch?

I have a fairly detailed photo I'm using for a poster. I'm converting to bitmap in photoshop. What's the highest Lines per inch I should set for it to still be manageable to screen print? thanks in advance.

    Depends on your mesh.

well, i'm not printing these myself but they are going to be printed by a professional print shop so I imagine they have pretty much any mesh screen available. I'm just looking for a good safe number that will keep as much of the detail as possible.

Are you doing the films or are they?

Why don't you just ask them to print it at the highest possible linescreen they can?

Meaning don't convert to bitmap. Let them do it when they RIP the films.

    Richie is so right.

Designers shouldn't be making any film until they have clear instructions from the printer on requirements or how they want the file. Most shops want to make their own film, cause most people don't know what they need/can print.

Unless of course your 'printer' is Deisel Fuel, I think they print 200 line screens through 450 mesh.

    Eliptical dot, of course.
