    Default FLATSTOCK: the truth

I don't even know where to start but here goes...
Everybody at flatstock sucked, it was boring, smelly, quiet,
kinda sad feeling. I pretty much hate everyone who was there,
even myself. As a matter o' fact, I hate me the most...........

ACTUALLY...I would have to say that flatstock was the most
sugnificant event in my art career.
I have had some amazing things happen to me because of my
art but never have I felt so much of a part of something larger than
the confines of my creative life. Sure, we all have people we work with,
collectors, art friends and the like but, I now feel like I have an entire
network of artist as a family. What Clay and the GP crew have done
with this site is more sugnificant than anyone could have ever imagined.
We now have a face to put with a style, a laugh to put with a joke, and a
    person behind every post.
Frank, Richie and everyone else who had a hand in making this event
possible have made an invaluable difference in all of our lives...the face of
art has changed and will be forever altered, much like my life.
I look forward to a new, brighter future with my friends and family made at
    Flatstock.
I also want to say Thanks to every person who came for making this a
    great historic moment in time

keep on tellin brotha.. I feel like you guys/girls are family.. I totally have like a strong affection towards all of y'all . This is like we are vietman war vets or something.. like we should all get together every year an celebrate our existance.. Flatstock/Gigposters has given me a new life. Somewhere in like 1998 I swore i would never do posters again. i was bummed out on the poster scene. Some bad things were going on, but today thats all changed.. Its just a fucking honor to share thsi experience with all of you..

Jeral, you are right on, man.

When my wife asked me how it was last weekend I told her I wasn't sure if I could articulate it. But you guys are helping me.

When Pete Cardoso told me I should check out gigposters.com over a year ago, I had no idea what kind of resource I was going to find. Not only is it a wealth of art and information and personality, but it validated to a degree my obsession with this microculture of the art world. There WERE other people making hand-made posters for underground bands out there, I KNEW IT!

Then this whole Flatstock event happens, and I'm blown away! The people I've been yapping about posters with for the past year are even cooler than I could have imagined. And being in Cellspace, just looking around the space and seeing the quality of work, gave me shivers. Why goddess has given me an infatuation with poster art, I don't know. But let me tell you folks, it is really important for me to be with kindred spirits and surrounded by artwork that I admire, because I often feel like I'm on the outside looking in. I just don't fit in with other "groups." I'm glad I found y'all. Thanks for the inspiration.

Now, let's see some new work!
