Default WHERE should I buy poster ink??

    Hey everyone,

I need to buy some more ink, and I want your advice.

Where should I buy screenprinting ink that's easy to use and won't bleed when it gets wet?

I bought my ink from DickBlick.com for my first posters. It was good, but I discovered that it will run when it gets wet. (Yeah, that's not good for business.) DickBlick also offers some ink that won't run when wet.

Who is best? What is cheap? I want waterbased stuff so I don't pass out.

    THANKS,

    Beau

I use Speedball acrylic, which blick might have.
I suspect you used "water-soluble" which is for monoprints or some art school shit....

very decent, best ive seen. dickblick is lower for some but higher for others.

allartsupplies.com has excellent shipping and they send coupons and catalogs sometimes. ive used 'em for over a year now with ZERO complaints.

I am still looking in vain for a place that can make me custom screen sizes at a reasonable price. My usual contact Irish Graphics is apparently out of business. Anybody have any suggestions? There's a place in Houston that will make the size I want (28x36" wood) but they want almost $70 a piece for them!

    Thanks everyone,

I'll check out allartsupplies later this afternoon.

Andy, I tried to attatch a photo of my first poster to this. We'll see if it works. I will head to the post office ASAP and send this one and a poster I made for a film festival to you.

In response to the guy asking where to buy screens, I bought 2 big screens from a guy in my home state of Louisiana. They are really high quality and inexpensive. And he precoats the screen for you. You might not want your screen precoated, but otherwise, I've been very pleased. My screens are 20x28 with a 210 mesh. They were about $22 a piece. I don't know if the guy ships stuff. Send me an email or one of those PM personal messages and I'll try to get you his contact info.

Thanks everyone. This website is SO helpful.

I'm not having any luck posting my images. They're not too big. What went wrong?
