    Default SqueeGee Alternatives!?! (Hard Broom)

Use a semi hard synthetic broom instead of a sqeegee gives you some interesting one of a kind results. I'll post pics when I find my digi cam.

Anyone else have experience screen printing with non-traditional tools?

I have forgotten all the details now, but I'll check my notes from college to see if I'm missing anything.

Essentially you "draw" directly onto the screen using bar soap, thus creating/blocking out a stencil. Flood the screen with ink and pull and the soaped areas are knocked out. Usually lasts for 3-4 imprints before it fades away. Good for monoprints.

I should also mention that this is for waterbased screen printing.

I don't know about all that but I did try to use a drywall mudding tray as a cheap scoop coater and totally botched a few screens..

I was printing a roadway on an art print one time and went outside and got some sand and dirt and threw it on. Looked cool and 3D but was the shits to print over, I think I wrecked the screens.

I like to go down to the creek, stun a big ol Nutria, roll it in latex house paint and print with that.
