Make friends with your local offset printer, they usually have tons of old stock, or half packs leftover, etc, or can order wholesale from their suppliers. If they aren't pricks they will not mark it up much, it helps them keep their volume up and the stuff comes in every other day or so from the wholesaler.

Xpdex carries 150 lb tag. Springhill, Wasau, it isn't colorful, it only comes in white or manilla, but it is extremely easy to print on, doesn't warp and is inexpensive. Comes in 36 x 24 inch sheets and you can have them cut down and it is even more economical

I've been wondering about cheap but effective white paper, how many sheets in a ream/bundle/whatever?

I bought some cheap chipboard to print on from xpedx earlier today. 230 17x22 sheets for $30.

What's different about the index and the tag? I've never used index before. Does it hold it's shape well?
