    Default white ink problem

Ok, so I've been using this "WB 5112F White Flat" for a while now, and for the most part it works fine when combined with some other color and a little extender. But I just tried printing on the black 140lb French construction paper and after about 15 prints the paper side of the stencil starts getting tacky and the paper begins sticking. Bad. Then the stencil just starts randomly breaking down and I have to stop.

    It happened before. Same combination.

And Geoff's got the timing down good on the exposure, we usually don't have any problems. Am I using the wrong ink? Does the paper have something that reacts with the ink?

I don't know, I was hoping one of you would.

What extender are you using? And did you try thinning the ink a bit?

I put plenty of water into the ink, its pretty thick out of the bucket. And a little Speedball extender. maybe one tenth. I do that to all of the inks I use and they don't cause shit like tonight.

Is the stencil and the ink water based. If screen is breaking down sounds like the water from the ink is attacking the stencil if it is also water based.

No, the emulsion is for water-based inks. And it works fine with the other inks I have... I haven't had a stencil break down in months. And I'm using the same emulsion, same exposure unit and time.

Its a mystery. A very annoying one.

I'd actually love to go back to Speedball ink, its totally nontoxic. But I can't find anyone who sells gallons of that shit.
