    Default blank tees

i want to start printing a line of silkscreen tees. ive always wondered where i could find blank tees with no tags on the inside. im in canada, so if you know anyone that would do it up here or know what term i can search for to find that type of supplier, much appreciated.

fotl and hanes carry a large variety of colors in heavy tees. could i just approach them directly and ask to buy the shirts without their tags in them? has anyone ever gone through this process?

    thanks.

When you call you have to ask if they have a private label program. All tees (in the US at least) HAVE to have a care tag in them. Hanes Beefy-T, American Apparel and some Gildan's make their "logo" tag separate from the care/size tag. Cut off the logo tag, insert your own logo tag on top of the care tag.

Also, private label programs usually have high minimums...and that's per size.

You could always get any brand of shirt that you want and take them to a cut & sew place and pay them anywhere from 10 cents to 50 cents per shirt to take the tags out and replace them with yours.

or realise its a tag, and no one really gives a damn anyways. my friend used to just sew like, printed patches right over the whole tag. a square all the way around. that worked.

but still, its a tag. it prolly isnt worth the trouble.

thanks a lot everyone. i wanted to get the tagless tees so i could screen my brand name with the washing instructions, etc... inside. I was just wondering where someone like West Coast Choppers or Yahoo would have went to get the tees they currently distribute customized with their tag and not the tee manufacturer's.

would that be called a private label program, as bdix stated, if i was to approach a t-shirt manufacturer in my area?

Yup. On the low end, you are looking at around a minimum of 5,000 pieces per size to get those done.

woah, that really fucks up my plans, lol.

i found this article, http://wearablesbusiness.com/mag/app...loom_launches/, on private label programs.

i think im just going to have to look at cutting the tags and printing the specs myself.

Here's who I've used in the past:

    http://itclabels.com/

Printed labels will be a lot cheaper than woven. You're looking at a minimum of 5,000 labels when you order. You're going to spend about 10-25 cents per label when it's all said and done. Then just sew 'em yourself or find a cut and sew place to do it for you.

You could always screen print your own labels too.

Hanes is making all their shirts tagless now and printing the label where the tag would go.
