    Default Dick Blick

I've been buying some stuff from Dick Blick lately in preparation for setting up a itty-bitty screen printing get-up at home.

Is anybody able to recommend other sources of materials and tools that are quality and/or cheaper?

Yes! French paper is wonderful. I plan on continuing my patronage. I'm glad so many of us here are big on French. They're nice people, too.

If you're buying screens from Dick Blick, you basically just threw away your cash. Those frames warp after one wash out.

For a buck or two more you can buy nice wooden screens with decent mesh sizes from a bunch of on-line places.

I've been happiest with West Coast Graphic Supply for my aluminum frames.

Victory Factory's gear was decent, but the guy was a bit of a dick on the phone when I ordered some stuff from them. Probably was annoyed that I was placing such a small order, but whatever, they've lost my business.

I also use Valley Litho from time to time. They carry the full Franmar line, and their website is easy to navigate and order from.

Paper, I use French exclusively. Haven't been happy with anything else I've tried so far.

Thanks, Ryan. Fortunately, I've only bought one screen from DB. I thought I might buy a few different screens from a few different places and see which ones I thought worked best. I'll try those you recommended.

Frank, is that Pearl store this Pearl store? > www.pearlart.com?
