    Default Re-stretching services and requirements

Time for me to get some aluminum screens re-stretched. Does anyone have a favorite vendor?

Also, what are typical prep requirements for the frames.

Would I normally be expected to remove the mesh?

When they say "frame must be clean" does that mean I need to break out the angle grinder and get every speck of ink and emulsion off it?

If I need to remove the mesh, what is a good solvent to use?

    Thanks.

Victory Factory in Brooklyn will be the closest. Try and get as much of the mesh off as possible. Just rip it off, it's industrial glue and you'll spend forever trying to get it all off.

You get the mesh off. Victory will grind off the glue.

For anyone in the mid-west or south (specifically TX), we have had great luck with SE Technologies just outside of Austin, TX. Graphic Solutions is great if you prefer your screens to be about as tight as your front screen door....
