Default Mixed Ink Storage - Cheap solutions wanted.

When we custom mix inks, which is everyday, we mix in quart, half gallon and gallon containers.
The gallon containers are easy to come by as we always have empty plastic gallon containers that our ink comes in. But getting cheap, sealable, quart and half gallon containers just got harder for us as our usual source dried up. So...
Anyone got a cheap source for sealable plastic containers?
And no, I cannot eat enough yogurt and cottage cheese to keep our shop in supply of used containers.

Look for "quart sized plastic deli containers with lids", at your local restaurant supply joint.

    yup, this.

Be sure to check and see if there are two different kinds of lids. usually there is a really cheap flimsy kind and a more expensive style. Spend the extra few bucks on the thicker more expensive kind, the flimsy ones tend to tear.

oh, for your UV inks try these guys.

The Cary Company - Specialty Chemicals, Packaging, Industrial Filtration, Absorbents

they have a really decent price on black quart containers. About half the price than what i pay midwest for one. the only catch is you have to buy about 150 at a time to get the good price.

Is a Cash and Carry the same thing as a dollar store?

It's a restaurant supply place that you don't have to have a membership for or be a restaurant to buy from. I checked and its only a NW thing but i'm 100% sure they must have something like it in Brooklyn.

If you're in Brooklyn, try Jetro. That's like a Cash and Carry.

we have ACE restaurant supply. There should be a quite a few in NY - know a lot of restaurants run out of shit on a whim and have to run in to one. Agreed - this is the best way to go. For about $12, I get 50 containers and lids. I also eat a hell of a lot of yogurt from the large containers, but you cant see a damn thing through them. Once accidentally put one filled with ink back in my fridge.
