You know... Much respect to the elder giants, admiration for the art and all but...I'm so goddamn sick of seeing these same posters exhibited and written about over and over and over again. And Again and again and again. And I'm even more sick of how every single article about gig posters has to begin with a paragraph waxing about 60's psychedelic art.
Maybe when the great baby-boomer die-off runs its course in...30 years? academia, museums, and traditional media will finally stop fucking the 60's cultural corpse and begin giving new rock art one tenth of the recognition it deserves.
Dan harshed my mellow with his aggro vibes.
I can send you some crystals, maaaaaaan.
cheer up dan, we had one here in denver about 3 or 4 years back, i think there was something like 300+ individual pieces from private collections, pretty damn impressive/ inspiring. quite a bit of stuff i had never seen before or after. i thought it was an ace exhibit until the end, they made this really 'hokey' room that was made to look like a living room on ashbury and haight in the 60's with a projector for oil and water trip out sessions. fuggin' cornball city.
