    Default press question

I have a chance to pick this screen printer for a reasonable press.

    youtube link

I think it's a v914, although the title says e914. Has anyone used one of these or know anything about them? I've dug around online but couldn't find any documentation. This would be my first press, so any info would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks-
    Jeremy

I guess it depends on how much they are asking. Personally I would never get a machine that old and wonky as the new generations are faster, quieter and more accurate. But if the price is cheap enough it might be worth it if you think you can make enough money from this machine to upgrade to a better model later.

He's asking 600, but said "Need to sell give me an offer" so I'm sure I could probably get it for 500 or less delivered. Too much?

If you can get some squeegees/floodbars screens as well then that would be an ok price. I was thinking $300-$400. $500 would be fine.

Thanks for the advice! one thing though. He says the vacuum table is 32"x30". I primarily do 18"x24 prints. Will that be enough room?

That should be enough room. Typically a vacuum bed of 32"x30" will have suction around the dims of 28"x26". But people who know will give you the suction dims by default so it could actually be 32"x30"

Cool! Thanks for all your help! I emailed him a buttload of questions so hopefully he'll get back to me soon and maybe I can talk him down to a decent price. I'll end up using it for a year before I get the itch to upgrade to a more solid machine. Hopefully this will be enough to get me feet wet using a press.
