    Not the same effect but you can get some sweet watercolor/stipple effects by mixing gum arabic with black acrylic or acetate ink. Then by changing the amount of water in the mix or on your brush you can change the amount the black dots cluster. Try it you'll like it.

    I use scanned in charcoal on different toothed papers. Bump up the contrast and BAM! YOU WIN!
