    pre-Costaco Bros love...

i wasn't even a basketball fan as a little kid, but one of the sporting goods store had a bin with all of these in it. i was like "whoa!" and made my dad buy them for me.

These were 5-6 years before the Costaco Bros started doing theirs (I only know that from your linked article. Ha) I was curious myself as to who had done that Nike series. Apparently a freelance graphic artist (Peter Moore) directed all of their posters. Found this crazy article from 81...says he had already done 17 posters.

A friend of mine is obsessed with Darryl Dawkins. i found him a Chocolate Thunder poster a few years ago. I wanted to keep it for myself. Grrr.

pretty cool read. although i dont get how he printed and sold 20,000 shirts out of the back of his car in his first week? i would have retired off that right there.
