I've got 2 nice contacts in Austin and San Francisco, who will host me.
I would like to know if some of you here knows some nice people on those cities (i'm planned to visit)?

    - Grand Canyon
    - Flagstaff
    - Joshua Tree
    - San Diego

Drive right through Las Cruces. You won't even notice you missed it. Do stop in Truth or Consequences.

I'm in El Paso. There's nothing here...and that's kind of why I like it.

i would rather visit tucson than phoenix, but that's biased for some nostalgic reasons. if you do go to tucson stick to the mountains or the desert.

if you swing into tucson from i-10 from the east you could drive thru texas canyon which isn't that big but i remember digging driving thru it. but before getting to it stop at willcox and pick up of the tallest/biggest apples pies. very good. don't stop for the "thing". i'm sure you'll see the signs.

going north from tucson picacho peak will be cool this time of year with wild flowers and all. stop, have a snack then gear up for driving thru/by phoenix.
