This is a question for the digital painters out there.

I'm in the mood to do a very dark, Giger-esque, industrial, horror type digital collage/Illustration. The Photoshop work is no problem. My question is where to find hi-rez reference material. I'm not sure what I want to do yet but I'll know it when I see it. Do some of you guys take your own photos? have any suggestions where I might look. stuff like rusty metal, wires, gears, strange machinery, general creepy stuff, etc.

I've looked through Photodisc and some other stock photo places. no luck. Any suggestions?

for my collage stuff i take a digital camera around and shoot photos.......got to junk yards, old abandoned buildings, antique shops, etc......

also don't be afraid to throw some rusty nails, razor blades, etc onto your scanner..........just put down some clear plastic to protect the glass....i usually cut open a sandwich bag and place it between the object and the glass....it's always worked fine so far....i've scanned in everything from razor blades to animal skulls to raw meat..........

yeah, i got it 'cause it had a lot of fat and cool textures in it but of course that's about the last thing you want if you're actually going to eat it!
