You just block out your gutters. No ink needs to contaminate our precious northern waters.

I tape out my gutters. One pull and all the ink you can't scrape up comes off.

We use green painter's masking tape with WB ink. It's nice, but occasionally you get leftover residue when reclaiming. It's easiest to remove if you pull it off BEFORE wetting the screen.

My buddy works at the liquor store, where they have their own branded packing tape. Instead of finding something sharp to break the tape with when applying it, he just makes a little fold in the tape, sticking it to itself for like 1cm, and pulls. Tape snaps right at the fold. I've never been able to do it with any other brand of packing tape, but it's a magical time-saver for that stuff.

If we do have to tape on the screen we use Blue Block Out tape from R Tape. Love this stuff. We get it from victory factory.

Just a quick note...you want tape with a rubber-based adhesive, not an acrylic-based adhesive. I use Uline brown tape, I can't recall the number at 1:30 AM. But they have 'em listed by adhesive in their print and online catalog. The Scotch/3M 375 works pretty good too. The really cheap clear packing tape is usually acrylic... you can tell by how much glue it leaves on the emulsion/mesh when you take it off.

    Hey, Andy!

This seems to be almost all the adhesive is left behind. This is more difficult than my ink wash, I use active solvent cleaning!

What brand/make water proof/solvent proof tape do you use, Andy and Crosshair? I got some brand spankin new aluminum frames, ans want to use that method.
I'm a hack with a squeegee but I'm working on it.

Polyken white solvent proof duct tape. It's expensive, like $20-$24 a roll.

We use UV ink here and a bunch of solvents, it may be overkill for waterbased inks.
