I'd convert to pdf before sending it to the iphone and use the free adobe pdf viewer if it's just a proofing situation. The iphone mail ap will mess with resolution and color space on raster images - wrapping them up in pdf format will prevent this.

These are incoming files to my inbox from assorted clients in assorted formats. I just need a quick preview of files while Im out and about so I know what Im dealing with when I get into my studio.

I cant seem to find a decent app.

Seems to be a bunch out there, although I can't comment on how good they all are.

SneakPeek - Preview Adobe Illustrator and InDesign Docs on Your iPhone and iPad
App Store - Photoshop PSD Viewer

148apps.com or a similar app review site can probably give you some pointers...

miklay, if I never write another line of code in objective-c again, it'll be too soon!

Sneakpeek also gives you font information and swatches. This app will most definitely work for my needs. No PSD preview tho. Poo.

Photoshop Sneak Peek promises to do that: App Store - Photoshop PSD Viewer Lite

Looks like it may have 'send-to' capabilities from Dropbox which would be rad.

my *guess* would be that these apps are pulling the metadata only - not actually opening/reading the file - so the graphic you're seeing is the thumbnail saved with pdf-compatible files. So if you needed any *detailed* viewing capabilities, you might not get it.
