    Default noob to the business

I am looking to do my first print for a show I'm going to and I was thinking of selling some copies outside the venue. Are there any legal issues with putting the band's name on the poster or anything to that extent that I should be avoiding? Your guidance is much appreciated.

Unless you have been commissioned by the venue, the band or management, or a promoter, or otherwise have some kind of agreement with any of the aforementioned parties, I would hold off on making a poster. Otherwise, it's just bootleg merchandise.
If you have not been in touch with venues, bands, management companies, etc. about the prospect of doing posters for a them, send them an email with a link to your website or portfolio and ask if they'd be interested in working together. Or find local bands, friends' bands, local venues to start a relationship with.
If I misunderstood you and you in fact have established an official agreement, forgive me for the obvious (and unneeded) advice.

It is illegal and depending on the band, venue, etc. you could either get the posters just confiscated or potentially get arrested for selling bootleg merchandise.

Don't forget to rub poop on your face before asking.
