Any printers who were at Flatstock in Austin hopefully met Dan from Sefar and/or came by the demo booth and had a look at the new Green Screen restretchable screen system. We used them for all the demo prints and they worked great. You really can stretch up a new frame in about a minute, with quality swiss mesh.
Sefar is one of the oldest companies in screenprinting, dating back to the 1800s. They were originally (and still are) a weaving company that makes fabric. All around the world. In the USA, they make precision screens for the electronics industry, and supply mesh and other products to textile, graphic, and other users.
For the last few years they have been working on this 'Green Screen' concept, and are now launching it. We were quite excited that Dan Gilsdorf, their Screen Products Manager, offered us some frames to try out at Flatstock as part of their support of the API Flatstock Demo Print Series. (also, Speedball and Kiwo helped out with supplies too)

But the coolest thing was Dan said, "Lets give away some starter packages to the Flatstock printers." He's a big rock poster fan, plays guitar, typical poster nerd.... So, here's the winners, picked from the biz card draw:
Katie Buchmann - Powerhouse Industries (Ohio or Kentucky, not sure)
Nevada Hill – TX
Lil Tuffy - San Fran
Andrew Vastagh - Boss Construction Nashville
Sean Hickey - VGKids (not sure location?)
Kyle Baker - Baker Prints – Chicago
You will be contacted soon by Sefar to get shipping info. Winners receive 2 25x36 frames, stretching tool, and a 6 pack of mesh inserts. Congratulations!
