Default don't work with The Daylights

Is there a place to post shitty clients that you shouldn't work for? Anyway, they're a shit pop/rock trio from L.A. Hired me to make a poster, short deadline, talked me down, then after a few rounds of revisions stop replying to my emails and never paid anything. The Daylights fucking suck.

    1. Did you let yourself get talked down?
    2. Did you ask to be paid up front since they are an out-of-state client you've never worked with before?
    3. Did your few rounds or revisions put the short deadline in jeopardy?

Always Always Always- money up front. Especially for new clients. You can only get fucked if you let yourself get fucked. This was avoidable, you should have walked away before it got to that point.

they're trolling GP for artists so i thought i would spread the word.

and yeah, yeah, i know, i've been doing this long enough to know better. all they got was a small screen shot and a couple hours of my time, and i'll use the image for something else. revisions did not put the deadline in jeopardy, and we negotiated on the price. it wasn't unrealistic, just low.

every band is different. lots of gray areas. the fact is there is always someone who will draw some bullshit for cheaper (and in one day, no less). i had enough other clients and this job was low on the list, i was about to get a payment from them. of course it was avoidable, but they're still assholes.

Too funny, wish I could have warned you. I have some friends in the LA music scene who know these guys. This is how they operate. They are NOTORIOUS for not paying people, not just designers - but I heard horror stories about publishers, song-writers, promoters, managers - all not getting paid. They hide behind the "Christian" label and they don't pay. Terrible business.
