Owh come on... it never hurts to ask, and we're all able to ignore if not interested.

Funny thing is when people ask how to start in the gigposter business they get advised to build their cv's, do stuff for free, get experience and work your way up from that. And when someone (apparently without budget) has a job in the field - who know's interesting to the before mentioned 'newbies' - they gey boo-ed. Am I wrong?

I have an open night at my club and need a promoter to get some bands to play. I can't pay much so if any are willing to work for free to show they've actually played gigs, let me know.

This is exactly what I was going for. Sorry for throwing up a possible project for people. Hell I wouldn't mind you throwing your link on it for more exposure. I definitely know other people that would need things done and can pay that I would refer to you if I liked it. Not like I won't have bigger things I can pay you for in the future...

Also, if you were trying to insult me with that- I've promoted and helped out with shows for free. Why? Favors, wanting to help, getting more exposure myself, doing it simply for the love of the music, etc. Things like this can go a long way in helping you.

Bottom line, if you're not interested- cool. There are people that want the opportunities. I've already gotten responses and will def be helping them out later on.
