    Default Flatstock Europe 5

FLATSTOCK EUROPE 5 also known as, Flatstock 28, also known as the biggest and best rock poster show on the European continent EVER, will be returning to Hamburg, Germany for the fifth(!) year, September 23-24-25 2010.
Artist registration opens this Saturday, July 3rd.

Flatstock Europe is presented by American Poster Institute and the Reeperbahn Festival.
It is held outside in tents, like Chicago Flatstock. The site is right in the middle of the Reeperbahn, Hamburg's historic red light district, amid a multitude sex shops, peep shows, bars, clubs, doner stands, and next to a gas station that sells very little gas but offers a thousand varieties of amazing beer.

As with all Flatstock events, in order to participate you must be a current member of the API. Membership costs $40 annually. More info here: API - American Poster Institute - Join

The tents are 3x6m. Half a tent is equivalent to a single space at a US flatstock.
A full tent is equivalent to a US double.
    Half Tent (3x3m) - 150 Euros (currently, $186)
    Full Tent (3x6m) - 300 Euros ($372)
...half tents may be split between 2 artists. Work this out with your partner.
(Yanks and Canucks note that as the Euro has dropped against our currencies since last year, the tents are actually cheaper this year in $$.)
Artists are responsible for their own travel and lodging.

Flatstock Europe, like other Flatstock events, is piggybacked onto a music festival.
In this case, our partner is the excellent Reeperbahn Fest. - Reeperbahn Festival
Their website includes lots of helpful links for travel and lodging information.
Lodging in Hamburg is inexpensive by US standards, but it's a good idea to book early.

If you haven't been before, and are interested, don't be shy! Make yourselves known.

    Veterans, lets see your pics.

"Every single Crosshair poster I've ever seen is almost exactly the same. Do these guys even have a bit of creativity in them? I mean, come one - shitty old building pics photoshopped with text over them. Pretty pathetic to say the least."

"it just seems like so little effort is put into creating this? am i missing something?"

Didn't someone take a pic with the Pissfrau, aka Reeperbahn underground pay toilet attendant?
I feel like she's one of us at this point.
Five years ago she was stern and gruff, now she practically winks and ruffles our hair.

She's my rock. I really depend on her when I am there to just remind me that the world is real. In my mind I call her "Sweet Lucille" like Red called the car washing girl in Cool Hand Luke.

you want me to check if she's still alive? giving the Reeperbahn being a rough place et all.
    just to make sure.
I don't think I'll stand the sight of Guy Burwell bursting out in tears.
