Default Designer for a poster - what is the average going price?

Hi, sorry if this is a really annoying thread, but I'm trying to make a business plan for a film festival. What would be a ballpark average price to hire an artist to create a poster for a film festival? It would be a yearly contract kind of deal. I know these things have a lot of variables and negotiation involved, but any help or quotes would be really helpful. Thank you so much.

Depending on who you hire, FREE to $10,000.

    Good luck!

Ok, honestly there are a TON of variables, and even once you figure out what you want, each artist you hire will have a different system.

    Budget $500.

    Good luck!

go for $400 - $600 for a "design fee" then if you outsource your printing get a quote from the printer and add 20% to the printing cost to cover your time handling the printer.
obviously you need to work with your clients budget so you can flex on the design fee. Try to base your design fee on a $50 an hour rate and estimate what kind of time you
might need to lay the poster out so your fairly compensated... thats more or less my formula..

We Design and print your posters for $2 per each color and $1 for your paper. So a 100 set of a three color print would be $700 plus the shipping after printing. Plus the artist does the printing also something that you don't get out of a designer.
