I talked with Rod Binnion this week.
Excelsior is getting back together for like six shows.
Ralph Darden is a tool. Tell him I said that. Same with Sokel.
hmmm, blessed muthas. I have a poster almost designed on my desktop with them on the bill. They are opening for the epoxies at the north star. poster up soon...
I'll def. check out the band.
If you've ever been to a show in philly, especially an indie show, you'll find that people just don't know what good music is when it's happening in front of them, or they're just too cool to care. sheesh.
Sorry philly, the Modey Lemon from Pittsburgh takes the Pennsylvania crown. Those guys are savages.
Ha! I agree and disagree with L.M. He's right with the indie shows but I think alot of that is because there are so many shoe gazer bands floating around that city with their turtle necks too tight. In other words i feel it's saturated!
Now the rock/metal shows that seem to happen with the bands that L.M. and I play out with, in our band TALL (Pennsylvania Connection, Hellblock6,Dragon Green, Solace, Robot Dicks, The Woodsmen....) all have a community spirit, bring out some cool bastards to the shows, and cheer each other on. I'm proud as hell to share stages and do posters with those bands.

We have been experiencing similar problems in Philadelphia recently at our shows, it seems the crowds are bored or numbed by apathy-We are playing this Saturday, (Aug, 2) for free outside at FDR Park ( with the Partywreckers, F***Bomb, and a few other bands-beer and food in South Philly)starting at 1PM-it's got a skate ramp and the kids here seem to be a bit more enthusiastic about you coming and playing for them-If you do see posters from us, 9 times out of ten, I made them-especially around center city and the South St. area- We will support any bands that support us and are happy to help any new bands if poss.- we are a new Philly band who usually play the Balcony,La Tazza, 218 South -the same as everyone else but only into it less than a year-first release will officially be on vinyl (Blessed Muthas Records) but also on cd..contact me and I will send a copy anywhere as we are not after Money--our music is similar to Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers, early Damned, Dolls..etc-help us if you can-we will help you
