Default Detroit Cobras at the Troubadour

Cobras were awesome. Great stuff. Tight.

The Willowz were all over the place and kinda douchebags. They were told to get off but ended up playing like 4 more songs and bitching about the management of the Troubadour and the audience not paying attention. Totally soured the first part of the show. That said, their drummer was fucking unbelievable. They don't deserve a drummer that good.

Secondly, I like rockabilly/Americana/roots rock as much as the next guy, probably more than the next guy, but this Dan Sartain is unremarkable. I don't get it. It's like a dozen other better rockabilly/Americana bands could've done that show, many of them in L.A.

The Detroit Cobras made up for it, though. Awesome.

I dunno, dude...I saw him open for the Stripes, and he was kinda fun.

He was better than The Willowz, that's for sure. But, having seen Dick Dale and Junior Brown in the same show once kinda ruins any new kid doing neuvo rockabilly/Americana for me.
