Rush was the first concert I ever went to. 1982 I think. My aunt took me. I was bored.

The first concert I remember attending was April Wine in the late 70's at Exhibition Stadium. I probably went to a few before that as my dad was a promoter.

I enjoyed concerts at the Ex. It had a movable stage so it could either be an intimate show for 20,000 or a huge insane blockbuster (like Steele Wheels or U2 Pop) for 75,000.

Now, if it's more than 500 people or I can't sit down, I get cranky.

This is exactly what they played. Packed house, a summer Saturday night at SPAC (open-air ballet theater in a state park). A lot of nerdy 30/40-somethings. Light security, unlike many shows there (it was militarisic for Pearl Jam/Sonic Youth). It was geeky but fun.
