The Miyako rules.... good place... close to the Fillmore and great sushi places

The Phoenix is a good RnR hotel.. good late-night lounge.

Also there is this little place -- Hotel Des Arts for the art-phags...

I always stay at the Savoy near Union Sq. They recently changed their name to Hotel California I think (at least, they were just about to last time I was there).

Anyway, it's a little plush but the staff have never been stuck-up or anything. Even when I show up in Chucks and a beer-stained rock tee. I have never had a problem there. Bonus: there's a greasy spoon just across the street and down a couple doors ($5 breakfast with coffee AND juice) and a terrible burrito thing right across (great at 2am). Not to mention Davids, an excellent Jewish deli about a block towards the square.

there is a tiny motel on broadway called the broadway manor motel. it's super cheap, kinda dirty, but you get a built-in coke bottle opener next to the door and there's a diner next door. nice view too
