Oh fuck. You have to see these two top shelf individuals live if they come anywhere within a 4 hour drive of you. The show on Nov. 25th in Nashville was my 10th Jucifer show and oh my sweet jesus....
I strongly advise ear protection, as any of you who've seen them know all too well. The wall of amps is a thing of beauty to be revered and respected. There will be times when you can actually feel your precious bodily fluids vibrating and you'll get dizzy.
Amber Valentine is as scary as she gorgeous as she is talented. And Edgar... oh shit. It's worth it all just to watch him contort his face and channel spirits with his fascist killing machine that some people would call drums. He's one of the most underrated best drummers ever. Know him.
The set included stuff from the new album and a good selection of older material. There is no stopping them. Songs move into each other seamlessly. I can't say enough good things about them. Oh hell, and you'll also be treated to one of the best ghetto ass light shows ever. It all syncs up perfectly and helps set the tone for the beating your ass is about to receive.
The only thing is that no matter what, her vocals tend to get drowned out. Every venue I've ever seen them in it's been the same thing. But damn, you'll hear enough. Try screaming next to a bank of well-tuned jet engines with mortars going off all around you and ask somebody what you were saying and they might get close.
They are super nice and hard working people. DIY personified. As soon as the set ends, he begins to breakdown everything and she jumps into the merch booth and gets to work.
They had all manner of posters for sale. Most of them are up on this site. I bought the only one I've never seen before. It's nice. 4 color. Wood grain and Black and Red paisley for a show from the New Brookalnd Tavern on Sept 14th. I don't know who the artist is, but it's awesome. The ink is all fuzzy feeling.
