Zeitgeist doesn't serve Budweiser...otherwise it would be wonderful.

3rd Street Saloon(Forest and 3rd) Detroit, MI - Great burger and cheap beer. Use to have a blind pig (illegal after hours joint)in the back (maybe still does.)

The Bronx Bar (2nd and Hancock) Detroit, MI - Great old neighborhood bar. Strong drinks. No questions asked.

The Old Miami (Cass and Selden) Detroit, MI - Vietnam Vet bar, Wayne Kramer use to hang here.

Jumbo's Bar (Cass & 3rd) Detroit, MI - Hooker bar, or use to be.

Gusoline Alley (Center St.) Royal Oak, MI - Cheap beer, great jukebox, 'nuff said. Although, last time I was in there the yuppies had replaced a bunch of the bikers that use to hang there.

It's funny, I once dated a girl from a rich neighbourhood who brought me an article from Toronto Life magazine (fancy pants Toronto mag) that listed the top 10 dive bars in Toronto. She asked "We should go to these for a joke"... I looked at the list and said "Actually, 8 of these are the bars I regularly go to"
