the show last night was really great.
the opening band Amina, was surprisingly good and they played 3/4 of Sigur Ros' set with them adding strings, xylophones, keyboards and a few vocals. after Amina played, the hall just about half emptied for people could go buy their cd.

the merch booths were busy, busy, busy and would have probably made even more money if they would have accepted debit/credit cards. no ATM on the premises so a lot of people didn't go down the street to the closest one. i saw one kid alone hand over $250 for shirts, tote bags, buttons and cds. there were more people at the booths after the show than before it.

i bought a test print for $20 of the silkscreen poster from the artist that she was offering since all of her actual prints sold out before our show. i talked to her for a few minutes and told her about GP, the community, the classifieds, etc. and hope she joins. it was like talking to Bjork, same voice and accent. very cute, very cool. she seemed interested enough that she had me write it down for her in a notepad. some indie kid in front of me searched through the pile of posters and pulled out one that was test printed on both sides. the girl directly in front of me also just wanted a poster and when she grabbed her's, she handed me one too. i then had to explain to her what a silkscreen poster was and the artist then tried to explain to her it was a test print and even more rare and the girl said "i don't care, i just want it".

15 x 22. single color (black).

those posters sold out within 20 minutes of the doors opening. i got one of the last 3 she had. i've tried looking up a site, but couldn't find anything and the www.klink.is merch site doesn't have any of her stuff up.

she told me her name. it was a beautiful Icelandic name, but i can't remember it.
