Can you swing a grant thing like, on the sly, and float the cash around, or do they watch that stuff pretty closely?

How can they decide what's "commercial" vs "art"?

GOod luck - I'm still buying you guys a beer when you come to Dayton!

    chloe,

Seems like you are at a crossroads... your client base is poor and chronically late when it comes to paying their bills. I doubt you will be able to change their attitude since it seems to be inherent to that scene in the first place.

Time to change your customer base no?

branch out... change your art style for those with money and that are not your usual customer base... let them pay the bills so you can continue doing your work for your favorite bands that never pay or pay very little...
