i won't sell at shows. i wanna listen to the music, not be a businessman. besides, i still do this stuff the old-fashioned way of 'getting-hired-to-do-a-poster'. i don't do spec work anymore. i either get hired to do a poster and bill them the negotiated fee, or i do it for free. none of the other stuff pays off, and besides it's too much work. i'm just now starting to sell my stuff on ebay (after 25 years!) and so i'm starting to get a few bucks on aftermarket, but that's about it at this point. no shows. ick.

    art -
its good and bad, really depends on the show and the bands. sometimes you can depend on the band's merch people to do it for you, or the promoter. and sometimes, that is not such a good idea. ive met some really great people in town just by selling my stuff at shows (before that, i knew absolutely no one here). im finding that the more that i do it (sell at shows), the more i sell. and i usually put my stuff away when im ready to watch bands, besides most people buy them on their way out.

MTM was a 3 day fest, with tables set up for people to do this kind of thing. believe me, im sure there was plenty of time to get the music fix in.

i got hired to do all the posters i sold.
i just brought small amouts tpo sell .
kept in mind there were 3 of us seripopers selling shit and about a million bands playng over 3 days.
we took turns manning the table, sometimes a tired friend would man it just sit down and when a band all of us wanted to see played (melt banana, shellac) we closed up shop.
for me, it was fun and worthwhil to sell at the fest.
having a table gave us something to do, a place to congregate and a place for us and all or friend to leae our stuff.
not only that but i got TONS of contracts just from being there with my stuff.
5 duffrent bands and 3 record lables asked us about design/printing and i already got 2 email from people who picked up our flyers.
    best advertising EVER.

I guess the SoZ poster sold before I saw your table, I might have bought one of those.

I agree about the advertising factor. After looking at your site (from the flyer I got from your table), and talking to one of you at the fest, I decided to definitely try use you guys for my next printing job. The various companies I've used so far are more expensive, but more importantly a pain to deal with. You guys seemed really easy to talk to, and that's an important factor for me.
