    Default My Morning Jacket

    If you even sort of like MMJ, their live show was flarking funtastic the other night here in SD. The first show if the new tour, going North up the West Coast. Really tremendous. A bit of retro throwback to another era in keeping with that big rock countyified 60's sort of sound, they put on a ROCK SHOW. They rock so huge, it's different than a speed or puck or fudge or sludge rock huge rock, it's dueling guitars and huge hair flying and lights and shit all over the place. Like REO Speedwagon or Kansas would have been at the beginning, Mid-American and wound up. M Ward was also great as an opener, with MMJ serving as his backup band for several songs, so that was wonderful, too for fans of the whole mess. Just a great rock show if you want to go see a great rock show.

    I saw them open up for Guided By Voices in 2002. It was the most impressive live show I've seen in a long time.
