i heared the new album at my buddy's house last night and i gotta admit, its not good, they've done a love album! i'm not a huge fan but even so, i think they've been patchy since BSSM.

Call me mainstream, but I actually like them a lot. The new album isn't that bad, actually has a lot of catchy stuff on it, but nothing tops Mother's Milk.

But, this is also coming from a guy who's favorite band is Depeche Mode.

    Honestly.

a mate of mine, well ex mate, he behaved badly too many times, is into depeche mode, couldn't really grasp em myself, didn't understand what was so great about em. but its subjective i guess. its funny how DM have transformed into this heavy long haired gothy lookin band (well dave gahn anyway) from that early eighties skinny, pale, tight trousers and yellow jumper wearin synth pop.

Yah, I'm not really into any of their new stuff, actually totally hated their new album. I think their best stuff has to be on Black Celebration and Violator. I hope they can come up with a swan song album before they retire otherwise they are going out with a whimper.

Sad, considering they are one of the biggest influences for electronic music. Them and New Order.

Yea,like i say,i'm not really a fan,but if we're talking electronic music, u gotta mention kraftwerk and slightly later along came gary numan, i think he was the first to nail his colours to the electro mast. i remember violator yea, there were some good ones on that album,i gotta admit.

I like the chillis, but have to admit the latest album was tired on the first listen. The vocal raps and melodies , well a few of em I had heard previously on there earlier albums. I backing music wasnt repeated, just the vocals... having said that, Id still go see em, and walk out loving it. seen em before, and there shows are great!
