    Default MASTODON!!!!!!!!!

    Holysweeetmotherofchristonafuckstick!
I just got back from seeing them in philly, they are doing a few shows before they go into the studio. They played alll of the new material. I think that might have been the BEST metal show I've ever seen, ever. ever.

If you've heard or seen them before, then you know they kill it pretty hard as is. But the new stuff is like 20 times better than anything they've done yet. More focused, a little more swinging at times, less busy, heavier. much heavier.
Get ready for them to hit in a big way with this new record. no shit.

I saw them at Metalfest and they were easily the standout. Blew me away. I was instantly converted.

always thought the drummer was TOO busy and it killed alot of real great grooves.

live they totally blew me away - seriously i shat myself. twice. ops:

i just got their 9 song demo and it sounds WAY better than the real records. strange.

I caught em last time at Emo's. Loved the music, didn't like the singer. Am I wrong with this opinion?

the drummer has always been my little peeve with them, but the new stuff breathes a bit more, he definitely is more on point. still alot of playing, but you can't kill the grooves I heard tonight. I'll be nodding my head for weeks.

I swear they took some of High on Fire's killer groove and throttled it up a notch with a good dose of Ride the Lightning. oh....

I always kind of thought of them as likr Melvins mixed with a little grindcore and death metal. I love the singer and the drummer. I like the fact he plays a lot. Thta is part of what keeps them from being a Stoner band. Takes them over into another place all thier own.

Fucking great band. i am going to put them on right now in fact.
