The reason I am doing posters today is because of Hank III.

He was in town almost two years ago in the 1st. Ave mainroom, and then played Duluth the next day. i went to both shows. Totally wowed.

months later I bought a computer, I went to hanks website. i was looking at all the cool posters, and I clicked on one by some guy named Brian Ewing, one he did for a 1st ave show a couple years earlier.

I went to brian's website. I sent him an e-mail about looking at my work and wondering how to get started in posters and such. He said , "Go to gigposters.com"

    ... and here I am.

Yeah, getting to work on a poster for Hank was like the whole thing coming full circle. It'll definitely be a highlight of my 'career'.

His live show is great. My brother gave him a joint after that show in Duluth. He was most appreciative.

ewing was the first artist i saw that i remember taking real notice when i was at shows. i had done some cut and paste xerox stuff for years, but i think that seeing that stuff was what really planted the seed for good. it was actually his work that led me here.

saw some stuff he did at the cactus club in milwaukee and my bandmate at the time said he new him. i remember thinking that was fucking cool as all hell. i looked it up on the ol internet and stumbled in here. now i cant leave.

    thanks brian.

i just found out recently that a guy i went to high school with plays with hank III's band. or he did, i don't know if he still does. and i think he builds custom stand up basses that a lot of "famous" types play. weird...(weird because i went to a tiny high school in a miniscule southern town, and we don't got none of them there "celebreties" round these parts).
anyway this has nothing to do with me but i'm hoping that everyone will think i'm superduper cool because of this affliation of mine. (um, i doubt it'll work but oh well)
