I have only used photo-emulsions a few times (always Diazo)
Now after 7 years i am screenprinting again...this time i got ulano QTX (recommended by a friend)
A few weeks back i burned a 2 screen project and when I washed the image out of the screen a bunch of emulsion came out too. RUINED!
yesterday I did a 3 screen project and 2 of the 3 screens did the same thing! Is it possible that I am using too much emulsion? the emulsion had almost 2 weeks of drying time before i got a chance to burn them....so i think they were safely dry. When i spritzed the screen with water after the burn i noticed the emulsion under the water drips lighten like it was going to wash out....sure 'nuff did!
I got a scoop coater recently..i hope this helps me coat screens a little better.
BTW: I burned the screens under a 500 w for 60 sec.
any ideas as to where i am going wrong?
