Default Daylight balanced bulbs?

Any of the gurus here using 'em for ink mixing/testing?

What temperature are you using?

I bought some 6500º tube fluorescents and they're way too cold. I'm thinking 5000º might be too warm. Logically, I'd think to get 5500º or something in between, but is there something else to consider? What if I mix a 6500º and a 5000º ?

ah, interesting. i'd never heard of them before. i guess they only go up to 5000K, so maybe that's a sign that i shouldn't be using a bulb in the 6500K range at all
