Smile Belt printing: common screenprinters has got any chance?

Hello,
i'm fascinated from belt printing method:

Is there any possibility that common screenprinters without huge machines can achive the results of a print obtained with belt printing?

Basically I believe is necessary to print the fabric using dye printing on a carousel and then sew it..or am i wrong!?

Do you think the inks used in those tshirts are dyes and not pigments..right!?

Any reference in dye printing is greatly welcome!

thanks,
Fabio

I'm speaking about the method not about the style!

Well...if you have big enough screens and a lot of patience you could use wing platens. They're basically GIANT platens that allow you to print the whole side of a shirt. The problem is that you have to stop and clean the platen after each color and the back and fronts might not necessarily line up depending on your design.

Otherwise...you need a belt printer and good luck with that. Most places that have them won't even touch small jobs or charge you a zillion dollars per shirt if they will take your job.

I don't have any pictures. Think of a giant platen shaped like a shirt.

Maybe somebody needs to learn me about belt-printing, but aren't none of those shirts belt printed? My impression was that belt printers print rolls of fabric that are then sewn into shirts, and those shirts were printed after sewing as the print is continuous over the shoulders. Am I wrong?
