Default New Screens From Mel-Ray - Issues

Just got some new aluminum screens, 39"x50" 305 yellow dyed mesh, stretched to 22-24 newtons.

We run speedball mostly, straight. For our darker colors, we add matte TW black.

We've always run 305's and never had any issues, even on old screens. These screens are brand new, been degreased 3 times a piece. The only variable in this whole equation is the screens.

We wet the screen prior to ink application, and we run fast. We're getting this almost instant dry in the screens. If we do a double hit, it completely clears the screen. Ink consitency is thin to medium.

On our other 305's everything is totally fine and perfect.

Below is a picture. It seems to get worse closer the center of the squeegee.

Is the picture blurry or is that what you're talking about?

do you have a window open with a breeze blowing on the screen?

Try getting a gallon of distilled water from the drug store and use that to wet, thin and spray your screens while printing.

No window or direct light. This starts from print one. Squeegee is sharp, pressure works on the other frames of exact size/mesh tension/mesh type/ink type.

Just sucks becuase these are the closest people I have to get my new frames, and Victory seems to be out of the question.

When we see speckles like that the causes are...
    1. Base coat underneath didn't get in the surface making second coat even harder to get in.
    2. Ghost in screen.
    3. Screen not clearing of ink because of wrong off contact.
    4. Screen not clearing of ink because of wrong viscosity.
    5. Screen drying in because of the (above) not clearing of ink.
    6. Printing at incorrect speed because of above.
    7. Bacon grease on screen.
    8. 80 grit.
