Problem printing with Epson 1400

well here is a new question. how long do you reckon those toner cartridges last? we print around 18x24 posters - generally 3 colors. Im figuring I can get about 3-4 posters per black cartridge out of this thing (6 tiled seps per poster).

What is ya'lls experience?

What is the best resource for toner? Anybody feel good about recycling toner cartridges?

It entirely depends on the amount of coverage. If it's fairly solid, expect 3-4 films (1.5-2 18x24") per black, if it is less, expect more.

I wish the ink was more affordable, but a working printer is important.

I kinda hate this printer. Its good quality, but I am hating when, say, the yellow runs out (even though I dont ever use the yellow) I have to replace it for the printer to work. Its a scam. Anyone use that RIP program? Its expensive right?

AccuRip? Yeah it's like $400 or so I think. silk screen supplies.com has that 'Blackmax' system I've always been curious about.

I get reasonably good transparencies with the epson 1400. Can I just replace the Epson black cartridge with a BlackMax cart and expect to get improved opacity? Hank
